How we work
Every morning: the most important news of the last 24 hours, each story backed by two independent outlets or an official source, plus the latest posts from Bukele, the police and the government.
Qué Pasa Today sums up the most important news from El Salvador from the last 24 hours every morning, in Spanish and English, at quepasatoday.com.
Fact-checking rules
- We open every source before using it. If we can't open it, we don't cite it.
- Each story needs two independent outlets that agree, or an official source for official figures or announcements.
- Official claims are always attributed (for example, "according to the PNC").
- Quotes and numbers are taken exactly as they appear in the source. If sources give different numbers, we say so or leave the number out.
- Anything we can't confirm is left out.
- We write our own summaries and always link to the original. We don't copy articles.
- Official X posts are shown with their full original text and a link to the original.
- The English edition is translated from the Spanish one: the facts are identical.
